About Steve

Steve was born and raised in Chicago, His first exposure to poetry was learning to write haiku as a sophomore in high school. In the mid 80’s he delved into performance poetry collaborating on two poetry plays with three other Chicago poets.  This lead to poetry slams at the renowned Green Mill in Chicago, as well as other venues such as Weeds, Adolph’s, The Get Me High, and The School Street Café.

Steve's diversity in poetry is equal to that of his schooling, he graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology with an associates certification in electronics in 1975, and double majored in Marketing and Philosophy from Mundelein College, Loyola, in Chicago in 1992.

Steve published his first book of poetry, Agnostic Sins, earlier this year, a collection of 23 poems, available through his website, and online through Amazon and Kindle.

The Silence Still Screams, also available through Amazon, Kindle and B&N.com is the second book of poems by steve.  Those 40 poems cover a wider range of writings, the earliest from 1987 to the most recent in 2015.

Steve now has a third collection of poetry, all recent poems written in 2015, As Rivers Go which contain 48 brand new poems.  A fourth, yet to be titled collection, is being written and will be released the summer of 2016.

Steve continues to write and post poetry in online websites and magazines.  He has had over a dozen poems published in various online anthologies and in hard magazine form.

Steve, a father of two grown daughters and a "Papoo" of two grandsons, is now retired from his marketing career and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Susan, and their family of rescue dogs.  Both Susan and Steve are active dog rescuers and volunteer their time to various organizations throughout Arizona.
